Mr. McGregor's Fences' low electric fence wires work best when the ground beneath them is clear of all weeds and vegetation so we include this inexpensive black polyethylene film with our kits. Covering it soon after it is laid down with an inch or two of mulch or wood chips helps protect it against deterioration by the sun's UV rays.
