Privacy
Your garden is yours. It lives on your iPhone and in your own iCloud, where we can't read it. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking.
Updated September 27, 2026
In your iCloud
Gardens, photos and readings sync through your own iCloud, which we can't read.
Backups, coming soon
On by default: a copy of the gardens you own, kept unencrypted on our storage. You can delete it.
No ads, no tracking
No advertising, no analytics of our own, and nothing about you sold or shared.
No accounts
The app never asks for your name, your email or a password.
Where your garden lives
Your gardens — beds, plantings, chores, the log and its photos, gauges and their readings, your notes and supplies — are stored on your iPhone and synced through iCloud with your Apple ID. iCloud is Apple's, under Apple's privacy policy, and keeps your data in your own account, where we have no way to read it.
- The steward. Your questions are answered on your iPhone by Apple Intelligence and aren't sent to us. Your conversations sync across your own devices through iCloud and aren't shared with anyone, even the people you share a garden with.
- Sensors. The addresses and keys you enter for Home Assistant or Ecowitt stay on your iPhone. The app uses them to read your sensors itself; they never reach us.
- Weather. To show the forecast, the app sends the garden's location to Apple's weather service.
- Notifications. Frost warnings and reminders are scheduled on your iPhone; nothing about them passes through us.
Sharing a garden
When you share a garden through iCloud, the people you invite can see it, and change it if you let them. A shared garden stays in your iCloud and uses your storage. Each person's name in a shared garden is the one they entered, and everyone in that garden can see it. Apple's share sheet shows who has access, and you can stop sharing at any time.
Backups (coming soon)
An update will add backups, so a lost phone or a mistake doesn't cost you a garden. They'll be on by default, and they'll work like this:
- What's in them: the gardens you own, with their photos. Gardens others share with you are theirs to back up.
- What's left out: your Home Assistant and Ecowitt keys, and your conversations with the steward.
- Where: on our storage, with Cloudflare (R2).
- Not encrypted with a key of yours: we can read them, which is what lets us help you get a garden back, with no recovery key to lose. We open a backup only when you ask us to.
- How often, and for how long: at most once a day. We keep the newest seven of each garden, until you delete them.
- Filed under your iCloud, not your name: each backup is tied to an identifier kept in your iCloud Keychain, not to your name or email.
- Yours to stop: you can turn backups off and delete the ones we hold in the app, or write to us and we'll delete them.
What we don't do
- No ads, and no tracking across apps or websites.
- No analytics or tracking code in the app or on this site.
- We don't sell or share anything about you.
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPhone's settings, Apple sends us its anonymous crash reports and usage numbers. You can turn that off in Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
This website
It sets no cookies and has no analytics. Its pages come through Cloudflare, and their styling from jsDelivr, a public code host; like any website, both see your IP address when you visit.
Writing to us
If you email support, we get your address and whatever you send, and use them only to help you.
Changes
If what the app does with your data changes, this page changes first, with a new date at the top.
